Five More Minutes

Have you ever heard a song that makes you stop dead in your tracks and think? Last night I was scrolling Facebook and came across this article

https://countryrebel.com/blogs/videos/scotty-mccreery-opens-up-about-the-real-life-emotions-behind-five-more-minutes

Of course after reading it I just had to look the song up on You Tube   Scotty McCreery- Five More Minutes

*** Listen to this song before you read more you will totally appreciate the rest of this post.***

I wasn’t even half way through the song and I was already in tears. WOW!!! is all I can say about this song, it hits me deep, yes there are other songs that hit me too but FIVE MORE MINUTES just has this thought running through my head.

As kids we always said just five more minutes please, as adults wer still need just five more minutes, it seems all of life’s moments we feel five more minutes will make it the perfect amount of time.

But  really who can honestly say they havent wished for five more minutes. I know I have plenty of times, even to this day i will say give me just five minutes and we can, or five more minutes and I will be ready. The list goes on and on with just five more minutes.

As a parent I am always asked by my kids constantly or five more minutes of sleep, five more minutes to play outside or can I stay up for just five more minutes. Is it ever really just five minutes absolutely NOT but that’s OK! Five more minutes of extra snuggles or five more minutes of sleeping in, is NOT going to be the end of the world, if they miss the bus it’s ok, that’s  just five more minutes I can spend with them before school.

Snooze button for 5 more minutes, YEP even I who is not a fan of snooze button pushers has my alarm set for FIVE MORE MINUTES. It’s a part of life we all need just five more minutes.

Let’s face it everyone wishes for five more minutes. Life passes by so quickly . Why not take those five extra minutes. It’s not going to ruin your entire day if you do. Next time the kids ask for just five more minutes of playing let them have those five more minutes of making memories, next time you need just five more minutes of you time take them!

Everyone needs just those Five More Minutes!!!

What are some moments in your life that you could use five more minutes?? Or times when you wished for just five more minutes?

Mine are :  as a child I always wanted five more minutes, as an adult just more time with family and friends and the one time I asked for just Five More Minutes was when with my great-grandmother before she passed away, the last time I went to see her she didn’t even know who I was, I remember praying can I just have five more minutes of her knowing who I am before I leave. At the time those five minutes would have been heaven to me, I know we don’t always get those  five minutes,  and that’s ok. I know deep down she still knew who I was she was just ready to go home!

  1. I could use 50 5 more minutes in a row 😂

Seriously though, I was just thinking about this the other day. I’m always saying just give me a minute, give me 5 more minutes, i just want 5 minutes, etc. Its so funny that you posted this because i was working on a post about it because it bothered me. Great minds, i guess 😉

Glad I’m not the only one that feels this way! I agree, just give the extra minutes because they can make all the difference.

    • I totally agree. Its either get up super early or stay up late for long showers around here. I swear my 6yr old csn hear me turn the shower on from a mile away!! Then its knock knock mommy whatcha doin.

  2. I’ve never heard this song, but I do really connect with the 5 more minutes reality. I wish I had 5 more minutes with my son before I had to work. I want 5 more minutes of sleep. I need 5 more minutes with my husband, because we hardly spend time together.

  3. I would love 5 more minutes every night and morning with my little. Being a working mom is killer most days and that little extra time would mean so much.

  4. Liz says:

Everyday on my way to work i would ask for 5 more minutes so i wouldnt clock in late. Ill never know how many times they were granted to me, plenty im sure…..
